Border Forest Holiday Park
WELCOME TO BORDER FOREST HOLIDAY PARK
as of Wednesday 20th May 2020
Hello everyone, here’s an update for you all
As you are aware we have been part of a large group lobbying the Government regarding the Tourism sector and especially those with 2nd homes; explaining very strongly that across the wide hospitality sector, one size does not fit all!
We have explained that for households which own their static/seasonal pitch on our park, the social distancing requirements would be identical to those you already follow at your primary residence and all our communal facilities will remain closed.
Yesterday our spokesperson held a meeting with the Governments DCMS Select Committee Inquiry which we hope has again emphasised the need for our parks to be allowed to open.
We have asked that urgent consideration is given to allowing you, our customers access to your self-contained accommodation without shared facilities in the second phase,
(currently our sector is in the 3rd stage from July).
We have asked that this be changed to Thursday June 4, as long as there isn’t a 2nd spike in this country.
We wholeheartedly support the battle with this deadly virus and do not wish to see you return before it is safe for you to do so. But we want you back as soon as it is safe: we are unhappy that we cannot welcome you back here yet
So again we are sorry that we can't give you a date today and that the above again, clarifies that the park remains closed.
But we truly hope we will be able to open and welcome you all here very soon, fingers crossed that the government allows it to be in June.
In the meantime keep safe, keep ya distance and keep washing your hands.
This quote still stands today
"All sectors that are currently closed, including hospitality …(which Holiday Parks come under) are not able to re-open at this point because the risk of transmission in these environments is higher." ...
To our friends with statics and seasonal pitches here, we really, really hope it will be very soon when we can welcome you back here from a social distance, of course!
We have been, from the start of this dreadful situation constantly in touch with the leading tourist/holiday organisation in this country. We have been lobbying the government along with hundreds of other parks to ask them to state when our static owners and seasonal pitches can return and we are waiting with our fingers crossed that this will be soon.
we have been given this date and information we will let everyone know immediately
as we are desperate to have you all back here.
we do need to make it clear that
our facilities (showers/toilets/and kitchen ) will remain CLOSED, for obvious reasons!
